CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - He’s written a song about the pain of social media, and he’s currently performing with Kelsey Grammer in a comedy show. And he’s a native son of Springfield, Bill Zucker.
What happened was, it was on Twitter. I managed to get 200,000 people following me on Twitter now. He was watching me, for two weeks, watching all of my posts and everything, the phone rings and pick it up, in Miami and he says, is this Bill Zucker, yes, who is this? It is Kelsey Grammar. So, of course, I say, come on.
After all of the years of Cheers and Frasier, I said, okay, it is him. All right. He says to me, I think you are hilarious. I’m flying you to Los Angeles, we are doing a tv show together. I want you to write it, produce it, direct it, and just tell me what you want me to do, I’m thinking, the director, as you know, has to be hard on some of the people. He was so easy to direct. He would say, Bill, is that one good? I would say, that is fine. Loved it. But, if I didn’t, he would run back and do it again. I had him do things that no one could believe. In fact, he really enjoyed, he said it was so much fun to get out of that straight role.
We hit it off well. I saw him Tuesday night in New York. He brought me and my friend Glenn Goodman over to his home for a couple hours. A lot of big things planned. Surprises for me this year. I think we might be moving off the web into a network.
Dream come true. But just working with him was just a dream come true. In fact, because of him, they moved me, Shannon Tweed called me, invited me to their home. I shot with Gene Simmons family Jewels, I got back from Hawaii, doing Dog the Bounty Hunter, my character on the show, I’m the toilet paper bandit. I steal everyone’s toilet paper. Dog Bounty Hunter shakes me. Apprehended me there.
The funny thing was, i had no idea it was going to happen. I was on Twitter, saw a post, Dog Bounty America, I vow to catch the toilet paper bandit and return toilet paper to the free world.
I love Springfield. Nightclubs here. Limousine company here. The Bill Zucker band, Cruise Control, all over the place. This is my home. I love coming here. I came up here unannounced as a surprise for Christmas to see all of my friends which is great.
Kelsey, of all of the stars I worked with, down-to-earth, loving guy. I mean, he has been through so much. I was with him and his new girlfriend Kate, who is an absolute doll.
I don’t understand why the guy loves me. He calls me his secret weapon. We are partners in crime.
